Position Summary

The Benefits Analyst plays a critical role in the administration and management of employee benefit programs. This position is responsible for creating, maintaining, and adjusting benefits (including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and retirement plans) within the core system database. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to delivering system and service excellence in all aspects of benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer a variety of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, FSAs, and retirement plans.
  • Maintain accurate benefits data within the system, including initial setup, ongoing updates, and adjustments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams regarding benefit setup, adjustments, claims, and inquiries.
  • Act as liaison with benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate data transfer for premium payments, services, and plan administration.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits.
  • Maintain benefits files and update employee payroll records accordingly.
  • Process monthly benefit billing, reconcile invoices, and prepare payment vouchers.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy in benefits data and processes.
  • Support actuarial assessments by organizing and reviewing benefits-related data.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and distribute communication materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment, and plan changes.
  • Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely benefits processing.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree or payroll certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in employee benefits or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with PrismHR payroll and benefits processing strongly preferred

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of employee benefit programs and applicable regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience managing data within HRIS platforms, preferably PrismHR
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
