Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Group Health Benefits Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of group health benefit plans for our client companies. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding all health benefits inquiries, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of employee health benefits services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage group health benefits programs for client companies, including health, dental, vision, and wellness plans.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, answering questions and providing expert guidance regarding group health benefits offerings, enrollment, eligibility, and claims.
- Collaborate with benefit carriers, brokers, and vendors to ensure seamless plan administration, resolve issues, and negotiate favorable rates and terms.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA) and maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
- Monitor health benefits program performance, analyzing utilization data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct open enrollment sessions, employee education, and benefits orientations to ensure clients and their employees fully understand their health benefits options.
- Assist in the development and design of new health benefit offerings or modifications to existing plans to meet client needs and industry trends.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with all aspects of health benefits administration.
- Provide regular updates to clients on benefit plan changes, renewals, and regulatory updates.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth benefits operations and timely issue resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in group health benefits administration, ideally within a PEO, insurance brokerage, or HR outsourcing environment.
- Strong understanding of group health benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, wellness programs, and related regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA).
- Proven experience in client-facing roles, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., PrismHR, ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
- Certification in Group Health Benefits (CEBS, GBA) or similar credentials is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
